- xhtml 1.1 compliant
- css 2.0 compliant (FYI, IE 6.+ is not fully compliant, so it will be poor rendering)
- logo branding at bottom right of browser
- css2 validator from W3C
- a list apart, one of the best css references on design, it's a whole community of css designers
- css/edge, gives a lot of cool ideas on placement and design, like the stable backgrounds
- glish.com, designing columns and headers and footers
- stopdesign is also a well written website
- javascript enabled
- writing content into layers unto tables using innerHTML, taken from the dyn-web website for the poetry and music pages
- rolltips from the dyn-web website for the dotted links, like for the dolphins-ring icons in the corner
- footer with last modified scripts and text written in
- of course, if you have javascript disabled, which is perfectly logical, you can still use this website
- vikings-normal font used in certain parts of the website for textual headers and distinction, this file should be installed on your 'puter, so right-click this link and "Save Target" to the "c:/windows/fonts" directory. You may have to restart your browser.
- my favicon.ico of the the dolphins-cove.com, look at the location bar (if my dolphin isn't there, reload the page)
- backgrounds
- background images are from Mike Bonnell's website of excellent web art
- i've made slight approximations of colours schemes and textures if your internet connections are too slow to read the backgrounds of a misted/fogged mountainscape and its lightened scape.
- the backgrounds should be stable no matter how you scroll, provided your browser is css 2.0 compliant, which so far, IE6.0 is not. netscape 6+ is, so I would suggest you use their browser for full compliance. ((it looks really neat))
